Rings & Winding End Structures

Electrostatic Shielding Rings

Also known as: Electrostatic Rings, Static Shielding Rings, Grading Rings

Electrostatic shielding rings are used at transformer winding ends to equalize electric-field distribution and reduce local field concentration. Ring frames are typically insulated and may be combined with conductive foil and crepe paper according to the design.

Dimensions, materials, tolerances and testing requirements are confirmed according to customer drawings and order specifications.

Key functions and options

  • Electric-field grading
  • Reduces local field concentration
  • Custom ring frame and insulation build
  • Used in impulse-stress areas

Typical applications

  • Transformer winding ends
  • High-field insulation structures
  • Impulse-voltage protection
Quotation preparation

Information to include with your RFQ

  • Electrical and mechanical drawing
  • Ring dimensions
  • Conductive and insulation build requirements
  • Quantity

For custom parts, a dimensioned drawing is the most reliable starting point. Drawings can be emailed to sales@boreviax.com.
