Design and operating characteristics
The transformer can be engineered using coordinated electrical, magnetic, thermal and mechanical design methods to achieve reliable insulation performance, controlled temperature rise, reduced operating losses and strong mechanical stability. The core and winding assembly is designed to withstand transportation forces, normal operating stresses and short-circuit conditions.
Depending on project requirements, both on-load tap-changing and off-circuit tap-changing configurations are available. Cooling systems, bushings, protection devices, monitoring instruments and surface-treatment systems can also be customized for different operating environments.
